Week 18~

Hi Momma!
I didn't even have the camera ready, but it was like he was waving to me.
I like this one because you can see the dimple he has on his shoulder. I don't really know if it is a dimple or kind of a birthmark, but it will always remind me he was breech. 18 weeks here, even though I already posted about our pumpkin patch trip when he was 19 weeks. I couldn't skip it because week 18 was very significant. Landen got his 1st & 2nd tooth that week on October 15th! He got 2 in one day just like his big bro. And they were both 18 weeks when they got them. He woke up early that morning with a different cry. I was puzzled why he was up so early, so I checked his gums and sure enough the left one had poked through. Later that day the right one came in. He needed teething tablets all day, but was such a trooper!

I generally don't care to take the time to edit my pictures, but I am not sure how I feel about his little nudey butt being out for all to see. It sure is cute though.

Plus I was feeling bad that I haven't taken him to get any professional pictures yet and I was trying to get something that was similar to Zach's 4 month pics. How do you think I did?

A tradition is born..

...and a baby was born since this time last year when we told the kids they were getting a new sibling. They were thrilled. Such a great day! We told them in the morning and then went to the pumpkin patch in the afternoon.
We had so much fun we just had to go back this year to our favorite organic dairy farm with our new little pumpkin!

Even though I have spent what feels like an enormous amount of time nursing the past 5 months it's still strange to actually see myself feeding my little 19 week old boy.

Cutest pumpkin in the patch!

It's amazing how the past 2 years someone has walked by us trying to get a family pic and said. "Oh, I have the same camera, let me take a picture for you."
The lady at the cash register said that Zach's pumpkin was the heaviest one she had weighed all day. He could barely lift it. It doesn't look that big, but it was so dense. Jeff could barely carve it because the rind was so thick!
Same as last year, lots of polka music and German food, yum!

The fall colors were so gorgeous this day. Some years, depending on the weather the fall color in Indy can be lacking, but this year it was amazing, I think because we had a rather cold October.

It was a bit chilly, but a beautiful day overall!

I forgot...

Zach used to fall asleep with his hands folded, too.

Fingers & Toes~

Landen loves to fold his hands...when he jumps, when he plays, even when he sleeps! If you look closely you can see his red gums and lots of drool, a sign of things to come! Landen loves it when we kiss his feet and one day Zach was playing with him and let him "feel" his face.

Zach thought it was hilarious that Landen was pinching his cheeks with his toes.

Cincy~Day Two~

The second day in Cincy we went to the Creation Museum, another place we have really been wanting to see. Zach by some falling stars.

Dinosaur eggs.

There were some really amazing exhibits and some that were a little cheesy, but the kids learned so much about creationism, something I have been trying to explain to them for awhile and this really helped explain it much better than I could.

Zach in part of Noah's Ark. Not sure why there are so many pics of Zach this day. Maybe Mikayla was sick of the camera?

Had to get a pic of Landen wearing his dinosaur by the dinosaur. Landen was a bit fussy here, but overall did pretty good.

They also have a botanical gardens that are beautiful.

Zach with a Zonkey and a Zorse, they have the same Zebra father. This was definitely the highlight of the day for us!

Zach feeding the Llamas. He was actually a little nervous and most of the food fell on the ground.

Landen had a rough night in the hotel, but overall did great and we were glad to have a fun family weekend!

Landen's First Trip~

Finally getting some hair on top!The kids school took a day off due to so much sickness going around. Half of Mikayla's class was out sick after the week they went to camp and had their hoedown, which I am sure is why so many 4th graders were out. So we decided to go to Cincinnati for a couple of days. We've gone to a few Reds games before but didn't realize how many other fun family activities there are to do there. We decided to go to Hallzooween at the Cincy Zoo the first day. This was October 10th.I made the kids read for awhile before they could watch something in the Dvd player. It is really a treat since they don't get to use it all the time. Landen slept most of the way there and then we all ate once we got to the Zoo. There was a peacock just out walking around the eating area. Mikayla was less than thrilled with this.
Then our sweet little 18 week old pumpkin zonked out for another nap. He did so good that day.
If you grew up in the Midwest like me you'll appreciate this. Although, in Ohio it's not Bob's.

A little costume preview.
Eagle's nest. Amazing how huge they are, what do they do in there?
The kids really loved the reptile house. Also, the zoo passed out candy at various places. Here's Zach enjoying a ring pop.
This picture doesn't do justice to how huge this snake really was. Mikayla said this was her favorite animal of the day.

One of the Lions was roaring so loudly when we walked up, it almost sounded fake. It was the neatest thing to hear. Our Lions at the Indy Zoo are usually sleeping out of sight. I think this was my favorite part of the Zoo.

Zach said his favorite animal was the akobi?? Not sure if that is that right spelling or even the right name.

The baby penguins were almost as cute as our baby.

There's a leopard back there somewhere. Mikayla decided last minute not to wear her costume. She still got some candy, and besides the peacock, really enjoyed the day.
It really was a fun day and nice to see a different zoo. Landen did so great! Thankfully he still likes his carseat and would sleep in there, but when he was awake he was daddy's little sidekick.
