Underwood Family Farms~

Mikayla started school a few days before Zach so I decided to take the boys to the farm! This one is about 5 minutes from our house and it is awesome. We used to get a box every week from them of organic veggies and fruit. I stopped because the farmer's markets in this area are so great I just really enjoy and prefer going to them and getting only what I need. Anyway, they also have tons of farm animals and things for kids to do.
They had a giant sand box that Landen could have played in all day, plus horses, goats, cows, chickens, pigs, etc. They also have a bunch of u-pick fields but we didn't venture out to do that on this day.

Cutest little farmer ever!

Landen LOVED this train ride so much and cried so hard when it was over, but thankfully no one else was there so he got to go twice.

Landen was not too happy about Zach going on those big trikes without him, but he really was fine after a few seconds. It's hard being the little brother sometimes.
We went home with a ton of fruit and veggies and Zach convinced me to make strawberry freezer jam. He really did enjoy it, I guess this is just the typical 9 year old boy look.
Our little chef Landen, of course, loved helping smash the strawberries.
It was a great but exhausting day with my boys!

If you have a sister who likes musical theater...

...you might just have to belt out a song about rice during dinner.

I love how he's using his hand for a microphone. Silly boy!

What's better than the beach?

Well probably nothing really, but going to a fair by the beach is pretty awesome. A few weeks ago before school started we went to the Ventura county fair. It's situated right near the beach which meant perfect weather. We were all surprised how much fun we had. I guess when it's not 90 degrees and 90% humidity the fair can be fun. So anyway here's the highlights.

Landen was serious about that corndog! He ate the whole thing.
As soon as we got there Zach asked me if I wanted to go on the ferris wheel with him. I don't think he thought I would actually say yes, but I did and this was our view!

He was a little nervous to say the least. He said it was more just not trusting that the ride was safe and not the height. Maybe it was that sign that said 'fall hazard.'
He didn't like that I was taking pictures.
I didn't take this picture on purpose, but it is kind of funny because he is usually such a daredevil.
Zach won a penguin for Landen.=)
Landen absolutely loved the carousel! He smiled and waved everytime he passed by and then when the ride stopped he bawled! Poor baby did not want to get off.

As always the kids love going on the super slide. We finally learned to keep our hands up this year.

Holy pig! I can't even imagine.
Landen loved the bunnies.
Ice cream treat to end the day with sweatshirts on.
And there was a gorgeous moon the whole way home. This picture doesn't do it justice at all. It was just hanging over the mountains.
