Landen Update~

I never really wrote about what Landen was doing at 12 months, so here goes.

Landen, suddenly you want to eat everything we are eating. You insisted on eating a whole piece of pizza a few days before your birthday. You got six teeth last week, your one year old molars and 2 eye teeth. Two more eye teeth are almost through this week. That has been super fun! Ha! You still want to be outside all the time and you wave to every car that drives by. You especially love big noisy trucks, like the ups truck. You are starting to crawl on your hands and knees, but army crawl when you want to be fast. You would still rather walk and are starting to try to walk only holding one of our hands. You are also sometimes letting go and standing by yourself by your own choice. You are mimicking lots of sounds. Today you said attach when Zach and I were playing uno attach. You are crazy about going to the basement. If anyone is down there you have a huge fit if you don't get to go too. You love to give mommy hugs and kisses and are becoming a momma's boy. You are sleeping longer at night, but are still a night owl. If you like what you are eating you will do a little dance after every bite. You shake your head "no" to tell us what you don't want and reach and fuss for what you do want. Your receptive language skills are amazing, you and I can have whole conversations and you will just shake your head or smile after each thing I say. You still sign all done, please, and nurse, but usually after we remind you. You are very good at letting your opinion be known without saying anything. You seems to make friends everywhere we go. You smile and wave at strangers when you are in your stroller. You love to be out and about, but you also move your crib. You are a pretty good napper and still usual have 2 plus an evening cat nap. Your hair seems to be growing in the curly direction and I think looks strawberry blond most of the time. You are still the sweetest baby ever!

Lala-lala, lala-lala~

Someone is excited for his elmo birthday!
I am not a huge elmo fan and have never had a baby even be interested in him, but Landen always smiles so big when he sees elmo. So I decided to just go for it and have an elmo party. The big kids had a really fun time helping me pick out elmo stuff. In the end seeing my little baby smile made it worth it!
His big smile when he saw his elmo balloon. He also LOVES balloons!
So I tried to be all creative and make elmo cupcakes, but of course insisted on using natural red food dye. Zach has some issues with red food dye anyway and I wanted him to be able to enjoy them too. A whole bottle of natural red food dye later and we had beautiful pinkish cupcakes, for a boy's first birthday. This picture with the flash off makes them look kind of red. They tasted yummy and were actually dairy free as well.
So excited for presents!

He loved the play phone Zachary picked out for him! I think this is one of the best pictures from the whole day.
Not a huge fan of the hat.

Looking at us like is it really ok to do this? He actually hated having sticky frosting all over his hands. So we cleaned up all the frosting and he enjoyed eating a little cake.
He actually shoved too much in his mouth and started gagging, but enjoyed making a mess anyway.
This one is my absolute favorite picture of the day.
This is actually his mad face because he thought I was going to take him out of the highchair.

Loves his daddy sooo much!
Everyone wanted their picture with the birthday boy!
But all he wanted to do is feed everyone else his cake.

I think he had a wonderful day and didn't even seem to mind the pink cupcakes! Ha!

Our God is Faithful~

Mikayla did dance camp again this year. Here she is with her best friend, they were in the same class this year.
This camp is always the highlight of her summer!
We bought her flowers again.
She was also honored by her teacher for being a part of the camp for all four years. Now that she is going into 5th grade she will be too old next summer.
(insert sobbing here)
You can hear Landen singing to the music in the background. I was actually holding him while filming this so it is a little shaky.

My Girlie Girl~

Mikayla is now 5'1"~
Still extremely artistic~
A faithful friend~
A kind, patient, doting big sister~
And a very gifted fashion designer~
Maybe someday she will let me share her designs on the blog~
She is the best daughter ever!

Mikayla's Birthday~

I know I haven't even posted about Landen's party yet, or finished his birth story either. I am way behind on blogging. Summer with three kids is wearing me out! I'll get there though.

For her birthday dinner she chose to go to Cheesecake Factory. First time ever she didn't choose Olive Garden!
She got lots of fun presents, including target and itunes gift cards. She saved up and bought an ipod shuffle this year.
A lioness webkin from Zachary!
The boys playing with spoons. Kept them both happy until our food came.=) You can actually see one of Landen's molars in this picture. He is cutting all 4 this week. Poor little guy, he's had quite a week. I can also see that all 4 of his eye teeth are trying to come in as well. He's had fevers on and off the last couple of days because of it.

I still can't believe she's ten!
That cute dress she is wearing is what she bought with her Target gift card that day.
Daddy sneaking some chocolate cake and whip cream to Landen.
He loved it!
We brought our own candles, just fyi, and I loved their fun colors.
Mikayla chose to do a bedroom makeover instead of having a big party with friends this year. She is choosing all new bedding and having a really fun time getting to choose some more "grown up" things for her room and saying good-bye to all the Tinkerbell stuff. We love you so much sweet Mikayla Paige! Daddy and I feel like it was just yesterday we were driving home from the hospital in Lodi driving 5 miles an hour in the 100 degree heat. You were the best baby and are our best girl!

Our Father's Day~

We had a wonderful day going to a favorite lunch spot, presents, shopping, napping, and s'mores by the fire pit!

These three love their daddy so!
The boys

Not in focus, but still great( Zach took it). I think it's the only one of us and Landen since he was born.
