Tradition!

Mikayla tried out and was cast in our churches' production of Fiddler on the Roof! She was one of the "Mamas."
As always she did great and really stood out as a strong member of the ensemble and she loved being a part of the cast.
 Hanging out with friends.
I had the privilege of being the photographer for the production and although it was hard work, I loved it!

We are so proud of our girl!  She balances homework and rehearsals so well.  One of the other parents said that during rehearsal when the kids had some down time that Mikayla was the only one trying to study.
Landen fell asleep during the performance.

 Grandparents posing with our star!

Silly boys! Mikayla with Zach, Jake, & Cameron.
Our baby girl who is about to turn 12!!!!

We are so thankful Mikayla has the chance to be a part of such a wonderful production, but also that it is through our church and a positive theater experience.  God had truly blessed her with a gift and desire to perform.  She has already tried out for "Annie Get Your Gun" at her school for next year.  We adore watching you perform sweet girl and look forward to many more!

Mother's Day~

My only request for Mother's day was going to the beach, so Jeff took us to Malibu!
Whales and dolphins have always been my favorite.
Jeff said he requested 2 whales and a dolphin swim by us as a special mother's day present for me.=)

There's a little dolphin over there on the right side.

Trying not to get wet.  Didn't work.

Singing while he walked over to me.

His hair always gets so curly at the beach.

Me & my babies.
It was a wonderful, relaxing day!  The kids and Jeff got me a gift certificate for a massage, some beautiful dishes from Anthropologie I have had my eye on, and Zach made me a stained glass candle at school.  And Landen gave me a kiss!

Thirty Something~

Oops!  I forgot to blog about Jeff's birthday.
He decided he wanted to go to Cheesecake factory so off we went and sat outside on a beautiful evening.
Then we took home 2 yummy, giant pieces of cheesecake, cookie dough and strawberry.
Landen sweetly sang to him and helped blow out the candles.
He's pouting because it was too sweet.=(  He just doesn't have a sweet tooth.  I am not sure what we will do for his birthday, but not cheesecake.
On Jeff's actual birthday Zach had a game and Mikayla had a rehearsal which I was at too taking pictures.  But I did take him subway so he wouldn't have to eat concession stand food.  I got him a framed print of a picture of a sunset at the beach that I took.  He said no presents, but had asked for that picture awhile ago. Happy birthday my love!
(Just for the record he was 37 on April 30th)

For the Landen Fan Club~

I've been really busy the past 2 weeks taking pictures for Mikayla's Fiddler on the Roof play at church.  I was the official photographer!  Can I say that I'm a  photographer now?  Feels weird, but I guess it's time to just start saying it.  One of the directors of the play saw me taking pictures at one of the mud runs I took pictures of and asked me to take the cast picture and then they asked me to take all the pictures!  Anyway, I've been busier than normal so these pictures will have to do until I can catch up.  I was just doing my hair and turned around and he was doing this.
Love the bed head.
I told him he was a cutie patootie and he said, "No! I a cutie pie!"  Ha!  No arguments here.

Peek-a-boo

I told him he was a jumping bean and he was just so interested in that expression.  He kept forgetting it and asking if he was a jumping potato, then he would remember and say he was jumping beans.
Sniff, sniff, almost three.

Dirty toothpaste covered mirrors give a great hazy effect to pictures, no photoshop required.

Peep, peep~

Landen loves trains right now so I decided to get tickets for a day out with Thomas.
Peeking at Thomas through the gate.  He wasn't so sure about it at first.
Then I played peek a boo behind the photographer and he smiled for me.

 Our cute little conductor.

To get to Fillmore train station from our house you have to go through a bunch of orange and lemon groves, then all of a sudden you are deep in the mountains.  In the morning when we were driving there the hills were covered with fog and it was like suddenly we were in Switzerland.
The kids were super excited to go for a train ride!!

The train car we are passing in this picture is the one they used in "Water for Elephants."  That's what the conductor told us.
Landen seemed to have a pretty good time and has been asking to go back, but he still won't watch Thomas on TV.
