Day 3~

Day 2 ended with a yummy dinner with Grandma Frieda and G&G Penner. Day three started with a visit from some Bakersfield friends!
Cutey Gavin, he's my birthday buddy!
Camden Christine
Mikayla and Julia were fast friends as were Zach and Basil. Lena and Camden paired off too. Mikayla and Basil were laughing about how they held hands when they were babies. they all had a great time playing hide and seek even though it was quite hot! Mikayla was very sweet to help Gavin keep up with the big kids.
Buddies! Katie(left) is preggers with her 3rd, a girl!

More of Day 2~

We had the privilege of being able to see our dear friends, Jason and Shelly, who just had twins!! Here's me with Mikayla and sweet Taryn Grace, their little girlie girl. She is so laid back! Barely makes a peep. She actually was hungry in this pic I think and that was the only time she was heard!Zach and their oldest, Dylan, were such fast friends it was amazing. They had a great time playing while we visited and were sad to leave each other. Zach said he was his new best friend!

Daddy with Nolan Luke
Daddy was like the baby whisperer while we were there. He got Nolan to sleep for awhile, he's always been good with babies. Nolan is the opposite of Taryn, but just as cute. Reminds me a lot of Zach and Mikayla as babies!

Sweet smile!

Is there anything cuter than men holding babies!?!! These two have been friends for such a long time and it was so great for them to be able to catch up. Seems like we have shared a lot of big life events with each other and it has been such a blessing to have friends like them. I know I have a pic of Jason holding Mikayla somewhere and it may have been one of the first babies he ever held! I don't know how Shelly never got in any pics but you can see her arm in this one. By the way, she is mother of the year!

Morning 2~Half Moon Bay!

Finally made it back to the beach! We had a couple hours and decided to head over to the coast. It was a beautiful drive and we saw lots of produce and roses and metal dinosaurs on the way.The sound of the waves crashing was so loud here, sounded like thunder as we were walking up to the beach, but the kids had a lot of fun. It was nice to get our feet back in the sand.

oops!

Great family pic!
To steal a quote from my Aunt Patsy~Life's a beach at the beach! Poor girl got wet playing in the water!

California~Day 1

We had an amazing vacation in California that started in San Francisco at Aunt Kelly's adorable place in Noe Valley.
It's like a whole different country there! Here's the guy who walks around with a bird on his shoulder. Yes, I took pics of everything on this trip.=)Kelly brought the kids gifts back from her trip to Australia!!

Then we went to this adorable organic farmer's market right across the street from her apt. She is so lucky!!Mikayla's favorite part of the farmer's market was this mural.
You can kind of see twin peaks in the background. It was very smokey there because of the Big Sur fire.
Kelly is a CHPs officer in her spare time.

I fell in love with this house. All the houses there are so old and unique, I just love it.

Here's some amazing things in Kelly's backyard. Zach decided that Kelly lives in SF because she has tons of money and wants to spend it there!HA!
Love these!
mmmmmmmmHer room has the most beautiful original detailing, all painted over, but still amazing. There's also a marble fire place!

Boomerang! Thanks sis.

The camera actually focused on the finger print on this lipgloss filled shell from Australia!!

Jeff decided this should be called a koallet(awaiting trademark).
Then we drove around SF to see some sights. Zach made it maybe 5 minutes.

Oh Aunt Kelly! The restaurant Jeff and I ate at after his interview for Eli Lilly in May of 1997. Obviously it went well and he knew it so we were sort of celebrating. It was right in the middle of finals and we spent way too much for not actually having jobs yet! It had a great view of the bay bridge. We both knew it was the start of a new phase in our lives.Fog city diner from our favorite movie! Guesses anyone?

And to end our very busy, tiring day we went over the Golden Gate Bridge! We were exhausted so we went to our hotel and found a Baja Fresh for a perfect end to a great first day. And just to make it more interesting I decided to get another sinus/throat infection and start the trip on a third round of antibiotics! That must be some sort of record. I'm not complaining though, God is good!
