Couldn't make it up if I tried~

Last week Zach came home from school saying he and two of his friends wanted to go trick or treating together.  I thought, oh great he's making new friends!  Then he said that one of them decided they should all be gangsters, except one of them was going to be a mushroom.  I asked him if he knew what a gangster was.  He asked me if I knew what a gangster was.  I said no, tell me.  He said it's like a group of people who go around doing bad things.  I said I was going to have to veto that costume idea.

Tuesday morning we were getting ready to leave the house to take Zach to school.  Zach took Landen out to the car while I ran to get Landen's sippy cup.  As I was walking out the front door Zach and Landen were coming back up the front walk. Zach said he forgot his lunch and ran past me and up the stairs.  I asked why he was running upstairs to get his lunch, to which he didn't reply.  Landen and I stood by the front door waiting for what seemed like an unusually long time.  I called Zach several times and got no answer.  Landen even went over to the stairs and started shouting things.  Finally he came down and I asked how his lunch got upstairs.  He said, "Oh, I was just throwing my lunch up in the air when we were in the driveway and it accidentally got stuck up on the roof outside my bedroom window, so I opened my window, took off the screen, climbed over the little iron fence and climbed out onto the roof and got it." **Edited to add~ I can't even believe he came clean about it so soon.  I think he was actually proud to tell me.

Love my little boys no matter what!

As I was about to pull out of the driveway to take Zach to school today he asks me if I can do a load of laundry tonight so I can wash the football shorts he is wearing because he will need them for practice tomorrow.  I turned around to look at him because this seemed kind of strange.  Something about the way he looked in those very thin nylon shorts made me ask him if he was wearing any underwear.  He refused to answer.  I then parked the car and said he had to go back in the house and put on underwear and new shorts.  I wish I could say this is the first time this has happened.
