The Fair~

So this was actually way back in August, but I have a few things to catch up on since it took me forever to blog about our CA trips. I think this was our fifth time at the Indy Fair. The kids have outgrown some stuff but we still had lots of fun!
Zach beat me in the "squirt the water in the clowns mouth race" to win the puppy. Such a Cali girl!

What!?! Oh, those crazy Germans!

Mikayla loves white bunnies. She thinks she's going to get a real one someday.

Mikayla did the superslide twice! The second time all by herself.

Deep fried oreos!

Elephant ears. We've been trying to explain to Zachary that you really shouldn't eat anything bigger than your head. He doesn't believe us.
The weather was great, not too hot, probably the best weather yet!

Our busy week~

Last week we had an insanely busy week, but it was a lot of fun!
Here's what we did.

I got to take candid pictures for the yearbook. Bending down to take 600 pictures wasn't the best idea, but it was really fun to see the kids and all their friends. Their school is just a fun, warm place to be and learn.
Both kids had field trips to the Children's museum on back to back days and of course I went to both, because how can you only choose one child. They both had a blast! I took a break from pictures on the day Mikayla went, but I am kind of the official photographer for Zachary's class.
This is his teacher Mrs. Hunsley. He can't wait until he's taller than her. It might not be too long!

Then on Saturday the kids had their last day of soccer for this season!!!!! Plus they had the awards ceremony in the afternoon. It made for a long day, but the kids always love getting their trophys, which they get if they say their verse for the season.

Over that way Dad?? Go Mikayla!

Mikayla also went to see an opthalmologist last week at the request of the school nurse. She said her eye test came back slightly off. Mikayla insisted she could see perfectly fine. Apparently, Mikayla has inherited my poor eyesight even though she has Jeff's eye color. The eye dr. said she definitely needed glasses, so off we went to lenscrafters between soccer games and the awards ceremony.
We all can't stop staring at her she looks so adorable. What a blessing to be able to run right out and get her eyes tested and then buy glasses. I can't imagine kids who walk around not being able to see very well.

They are the perfect brown to match her hair and eyes and they have a little bit of lavender on the insides. She picked them out all by herself and I think she looks so cute and smart in them!

Thanks for stopping by to hear about our busy week!

***Edited to add that after a day of wearing her glasses Mikayla said, "Oh, I can see much better now!"

Tom Turkey~

Two weekends ago we got a visit from Grandma Frieda and Grandpa Don and we had a great time! They got the kids this cool turkey decoration and they got to see a lot of soccer!

Zach decided he needed to write Tom Turkey on him.
Mikayla hard at work on the field!

Pretty moon.

I really like this one even though Zach is on the end.

Watch out for that giant!

Goal!!! Zach scored twice in this game!

Daddy's little helpers~

They just started doing this all by themselves without being asked. Such teamwork!
