California~Day 1

We had an amazing vacation in California that started in San Francisco at Aunt Kelly's adorable place in Noe Valley.
It's like a whole different country there! Here's the guy who walks around with a bird on his shoulder. Yes, I took pics of everything on this trip.=)Kelly brought the kids gifts back from her trip to Australia!!

Then we went to this adorable organic farmer's market right across the street from her apt. She is so lucky!!Mikayla's favorite part of the farmer's market was this mural.
You can kind of see twin peaks in the background. It was very smokey there because of the Big Sur fire.
Kelly is a CHPs officer in her spare time.

I fell in love with this house. All the houses there are so old and unique, I just love it.

Here's some amazing things in Kelly's backyard. Zach decided that Kelly lives in SF because she has tons of money and wants to spend it there!HA!
Love these!
mmmmmmmmHer room has the most beautiful original detailing, all painted over, but still amazing. There's also a marble fire place!

Boomerang! Thanks sis.

The camera actually focused on the finger print on this lipgloss filled shell from Australia!!

Jeff decided this should be called a koallet(awaiting trademark).
Then we drove around SF to see some sights. Zach made it maybe 5 minutes.

Oh Aunt Kelly! The restaurant Jeff and I ate at after his interview for Eli Lilly in May of 1997. Obviously it went well and he knew it so we were sort of celebrating. It was right in the middle of finals and we spent way too much for not actually having jobs yet! It had a great view of the bay bridge. We both knew it was the start of a new phase in our lives.Fog city diner from our favorite movie! Guesses anyone?

And to end our very busy, tiring day we went over the Golden Gate Bridge! We were exhausted so we went to our hotel and found a Baja Fresh for a perfect end to a great first day. And just to make it more interesting I decided to get another sinus/throat infection and start the trip on a third round of antibiotics! That must be some sort of record. I'm not complaining though, God is good!

I'm so bummed we didn't connect when you were here. I hope it's not too long before we get a chance to see each other again. It looks like you had a great time with family. It just seems wrong that we were so close yet so far away!
