First Day of School!
August 10, 2009
So precious, Landen came too and slept thru the whole morning. Daddy helped us get ready and out the door since it is definitely more challenging with a newborn. Although, the kids were up early and ready early and really do most stuff themselves now. The hardest part was being tired and not used to being up and having to go somewhere that early. First time they both started school on the same day since preschool.
Mikayla has lots of friends in her class, including one of her very best friends, so she wasn't nervous. She won't admit it, but I know she was very excited for school to start again. Her teacher is brand new to our school this year, but she seems great!
Can't believe how they have grown! They were very nice and gave their old mama a hug before I left. Zachary couldn't wait for school to start this year!
Landen helped drop them off at their classrooms.=) And I almost forgot--Landen Alexander, our smooshy, cuddly, kissable 9 week old!!

So sweet! I love that they are holding hands. First day of school ever. Oh, to just go back to that day for a few hours and kiss their sweet cheeks and hear their sweet voices!!
Just for fun!

Last week of summer break~
For us the first week of August was our last week before school started. Kind of early but we tried to pack in the fun anyway. The big kids did a cooking class and absolutely loved it. They made lasagnas, cheescakes, quiches, and much more. They are so confident in the kitchen now. Zach got a new dresser since his converts to/from a changing table. It was originally Mikayla's and now it's Landen's! Anyway, Zach needed a new dresser and we finally found one we liked that was a good price and it came in this great big box!! Perfect for a summer lemonade stand. They actually made some good money! Boy was it hot inside that box, but they were committed to their business.
We finally made it over the the water park by our house. It is so fun, but we hardly ever make it there. this was one of the last days it was open for the summer and it was only like 70 degrees and breezy. BRRRR! But the kids had a blast after they got used to the water.
Landen slept most of the time at the water park. He was so good on all our summer adventures. I was always so thankful how well he did getting lugged around with me and the kids. Praise God that he likes his carseat and almost always falls asleep in the car.
He managed a smile even though the water was chilly. Always was a smiley baby. They went down that slide like 20 times. There was hardly anyone there that day, of course because it was so cool, but we enjoyed it because it can be very crowded and crazy.
Smiley, happy, still 8 week old boy!
Loves to sleep with his arms above his head just like his sissy did as a baby. Another one of Zach's outfits from when he was a baby.

Finally trying the sling~
He seemed much happier facing out. I love how he was holding his toes.
Well, he must have been comfortable because it didn't take long until he fell asleep. I still wasn't hands free, but I really didn't mind and I got dinner mostly made.=)

Seriously, I don't even want to think how they got like this, but it is so cute!
Still 8 weeks old here, I'm gettin there.

Real time update~
Landen! Every day since you turned 11 weeks you have done something new! You rolled over, you found your thumb, you found your hands and stared at them for a long time, you slept 6-7 hours several nights, you started grabbing your blankies, you started chewing your blankies, you found your tongue and act like your chewing gum and stick your tongue out when you smile, you smile at Mama all day long, and yesterday you giggled when I tickled your cheeks and laughed out loud in your sleep. You have been laughing at me all day and scrunching up your nose when you smile. When we lay you down you do little baby sit-ups to try to get up. All you want to do is be held so you can either sit or stand and when you stand you stomp you legs around like your are dancing. Slow down little buddy(Zach calls you little buddy)! At the same time I can't wait to see what's next!
