14 Months~

I had to take a break from blogging about our trip because Landen is almost 15 months now. There's so much I want to remember about 14 months! Landen, you are the cutest little patoot ever!
Your language has exploded over the last few weeks. This past week you said juice and pizza. You say "was dat?" all day, meaning what's that? You say yes and walk and rock and zach and dada and sissa and please and toesies and chicken and ball and washwash and soft and a few more I'm sure I have forgotten.
You went from loving your crib to hating your crib overnight. This is a problem. We are working on it. You are very smart and determined. Mommy is very tired. We'll see what happens.
You got your fourth molar and your fourth eye tooth is almost through. That would make almost 16 teeth!
Your favorite foods are hummus, beans, potatoes, pizza, blueberries, yougurt smoothies, clif bars, and mama's milk. You want to eat whatever we are eating.
You are very vocal and very loud!
You have extremely long eye lashes and smell yummy all the time.
You are master of the pout.
When you wake up in the morning you stretch your arms up and mimic us stretching and make stretching noises. You love to make sniffing noises any time you see flowers.
You love your wack-a-mole.
Here you are signing please. You still sign please, more, all done, and nurse. You also blow kisses and wave bye-bye and cover your eyes to play peek-a-boo.
You can walk about 4-6 steps consistently, but you realized crawling is much faster, so you prefer to do that. Although you will walk very far with your walker and will cruise all around the house. I am sure I am forgetting some things, but I treasure all of our sweet days together in my heart and I love you so very much my little Landen.

Our trip north continued~

After legoland we headed to Grandpa and Grandma Schnell's house for a few days. The kids had a blast on their property, playing, exploring, and taking tractor rides!
Landen wasn't scared at all.

The highlight for Zach was getting to drive!

Our visit was much too short, but we had a great time!
We also spent an afternoon walking around their downtown area and browsed thru many cute shops, but I didn't take any pictures. We(minus me) even had some yummy Chicago style pizza! We will have to go back soon!

Legoland Chicago~

So excited to finally go to the Legoland that's actually in Schaumburg, IL. The giraffe is kissing his head!
He wasn't all that excited to get his picture taken. I think there was a lot of build up to this day and all he could think about was buying a new lego set.
Mikayla was more than happy to pose for pictures.
I am not sure if it was because we were still on an American Girl high, but Legoland was kind of a let down. Maybe he would have enjoyed it when he was younger? I don't know what it was, but none of us were impressed. The rides were slow and the shows were not super exciting. The Lego store was pretty picked over and so he didn't even end up buying anything. Overall, I think he had a good time though.
There was a show where the lady kept giving high fives to the kids in the group and now Landen loves to give high fives. So cute!

There's nothing like the first day~

The first day of school that is! The nervousness and excitement is unlike any other day. It was hard for me to be sad, because for one it takes a lot of work and thought to get everyone ready for the first day, and there is no time for tears. And the kids were so excited to be starting school I was just so happy for them. They both got great teachers and have friends in their classes. I couldn't ask for anything more. I pray about those things for months admittedly with more worry than faith, but God has always blessed us immensely. This is Mikayla's first day of 5th grade and Zachary's first day of 3rd grade!!
A little sleepy, but very excited!
I just love the outfits they chose.
I want to remember that it was actually a little chilly outside, but it felt great, and it means fall is coming soon. And I want to remember that poor Landen is getting his last eye tooth and had a horrible night. We barely slept and it was perfect timing for the kids to go back to school, so we could get a good nap. We missed our sis sis and Zach, but Landen is actually very talkative when the big kids are gone.

The Best Day Ever~

Finally made it to American Girl. We've been saying we were going to go all summer as part of Mikayla's birthday fun, but we just never found the right weekend. Jeff had a work meeting in Chicago at the Westin last Thursday right across from AG, so everything finally came together!
She brought Nikki and Felicity because they were in need of some major hair repair.
Landen loves Mikayla's "girls," so when we walked in he got very excited and kept waving to all the dolls. Mostly he just likes to poke them in the eyes.
Sad looking dolls before their hair appointment.

Looking better! How cute are those little salon chairs!?!
Much better! And it only cost $30! Mikayla actually paid for it herself!

We all had fun exploring the new, very big AG.
We also got to have dinner at the Cafe.
I do believe that I heard someone say it was the best day ever!
Dinner was really yummy and they even had a dairy free menu for me!!!

Dessert was delicious!
Landen loves smelling flowers.
She also got some hair accessories and an outfit! We all agreed it was an outstanding day!

In front of John Hancock Tower.
Tucked in for the night.
