I can easily recall that wonderful day you were born, June 21st. You took your time coming out(23 hrs.), which is very true to your personality now. You had the hiccups while I was pushing. Both Dr. and nurse said they had never seen that before. You had the hiccups almost every night in my belly and you still get them if you giggle too hard. It was the first day of summer and very hot. We didn't know if you would be a girl or a boy, but when they said "It's a girl!" we were thrilled! We hadn't officially decided on a name, but when the nurse asked and Daddy said Mikayla Paige it's like it just floated through the air and stuck right to you. We couldn't stop saying your name all day. When I tried to nurse you for the first time you kept getting distracted by daddy's voice every time he would say, "She's doing it!" I remember feeling like having you was the greatest privelege God had ever given me. And I can honestly say it still is! We love you sweet girl!!
