Zachary's Baseball Season Highlights~

So even though I failed to post any pictures during the season I did take a lot of pics and he had another great season. He was on the Athletics this year and he continues to LOVE baseball and do pretty well at it.Go #8!!
He loved playing catcher and I think he was one of very few who enjoyed it and wasn't scared. He ended up being catcher several times as well as first base.

Last week he suddenly went up to the plate and batted left handed, and before Jeff could run over there he got a pretty good hit. He said he just wanted to try it out. Life is never predictable with Zachy around!

Getting ready to run to home! How cute is that!?!

Ready at first.

Mikayla's contribution to the season. She has sworn off baseball for life. Yes, that's a dinosaur with a crown.

When Mikayla was a baby she would always make a "scrunch" face and we thought she was just being cute. Now we have realized she just hates having her picture taken! At one point she did go over to the bench and give Zach a high five, it was so precious!

The Birthday Events~

It started off with a Bako Box filled with American Girl Books from Papa & RuthAnn!! She also got many wonderful cards from all her grandmas & grandpas with birthday money which she went out and spent on clothes asap! Thank you everyone!

Zach got a chalk roller!

Her big present from Mommy & Daddy was a new bike! She had out- grown the other one in size and maturity(strawberry shortcake is now babyish)

On Friday she had all her BFF's from school over for her party. She was certain it had to be a back yard party and she planned all the activities!

Pre-party photo shoot was a little buggy

They kicked the party off in the bouncy house

Then the water balloon toss where none of the balloons would pop. But it was a lot of fun trying to see how high and hard they could throw them in order to make them pop.

Then it was time for a run through the sprinkler!

I think this was her favorite part.
Everyone got to paint a picture frame and all the girls really enjoyed this craft and were so quiet while they were working.

Then on to presents!
The girls said the cutest, funniest things the whole time and Zach was cracking up! She got 4 more webkinz then it was time for cake!!She picked a very yummy oreo cake and went with some cute brown and turquoise decorations as opposed to a "theme."(fyi--theme birthdays are babyish)

My sweet 8 year old girl!

As dainty as when she was two.

We ended it all with birthday dinner @ Olive Garden--her choice!!

Happy 8th Birthday to our sweet girl!!!!!!!!

I can easily recall that wonderful day you were born, June 21st. You took your time coming out(23 hrs.), which is very true to your personality now. You had the hiccups while I was pushing. Both Dr. and nurse said they had never seen that before. You had the hiccups almost every night in my belly and you still get them if you giggle too hard. It was the first day of summer and very hot. We didn't know if you would be a girl or a boy, but when they said "It's a girl!" we were thrilled! We hadn't officially decided on a name, but when the nurse asked and Daddy said Mikayla Paige it's like it just floated through the air and stuck right to you. We couldn't stop saying your name all day. When I tried to nurse you for the first time you kept getting distracted by daddy's voice every time he would say, "She's doing it!" I remember feeling like having you was the greatest privelege God had ever given me. And I can honestly say it still is! We love you sweet girl!!
Almost 5 years old
8 years old! Our big girl! You kept saying that you felt taller all week and sure enough you have grown an inch since May 1st! No wonder you have been eating so much. That means you are 56 inches tall or 4 feet 8 inches! Wow! You are also 72lbs. It has been such a blessing to watch you grow and blossom into a beautiful, sweet, silly, funny, artistic, godly girl. It was so neat to see how everyone at your party called you their BFF. You have a way of making everyone feel special. Many more birthday pics to come!!

Our Summer So Far~

Dance camp at school. They did a beautiful dance to "Fly to Jesus." I'll try to post the video, but it might be too long.

Every time we go to the store Zach swipes twist ties.
Sand Art

Mikayla's interpretation of "Starry Night."
Arrowheads from Daddy's trip to Phoenix.
Sword shaped stick found in our yard.
No matter how big they get they still love that John Deere trike.
Lots of Popcicles and a cute, summery shirt from Aunt Kelly

Zach saved all his money and bought this giant watermelon from the Farmer's Market. He was so proud and we still haven't eaten it all!

Before

After & A Father's Day Birthday with a three in it(I was born on Father's Day). The first day Mommy was feeling better since Mother's day, after the Strep Throat turned into Bronchitis, and then Zach caught 5th's disease at B-ball and kindly passed it along to me! It's really just a harmless rash, but it really knocked me out since I was already sick.

A visit from Little Major!

There has also been much bike riding, sidewalk chalk, & swimming. Zach went to basketball camp, Mikayla to volleyball camp, and they just finished up VBS which they loved so much they cried when it was over! And really the fun has only just begun. The girlie's birthday is in 2 days, Z will finish his baseball season soon, a trip to Cali, gymnastics camp, and art camp!! I'm tired just thinking about it, but we really are enjoying our summer so far!
