My Toddler~

Ok, I'll admit it! He is officially not a baby anymore. But I can still call him my baby. When he sees himself in the mirror or a picture he says baby, even though he can say Landen now. I'm not sure he knows that it's him in the mirror, but he will give the baby in the mirror kisses!

Landen looking like such a big boy with those long arms and legs and flippy hair. These pictures make my heart swell and ache at the same time.
He surely is the cutest isn't he!?!

Baseball & Boo Boos~

Zach is finally back to playing baseball. We found a league here we think is good so far. We are learning as we go. His league had an opening ceremony and Jeff turned around and Wayne Gretsky was standing right next to him. He was shocked! I guess his son plays on one of the other teams. He was just walking around like every other dad.
No one was asking for pictures with him or autographs, but I did just happen to click my camera in his direction.
Zach has a big cheering section!

He's mostly playing second base this year. Also, this is his first year where the kids are pitching and not the coaches. It's definitely more intimidating, but he's slowly adjusting.
Landen loves being at the games!
He's #14 this year!(that was always my number)
Bad picture, but he got a hit!

We also had a very scary incident with Landen. Jeff and Zach were playing catch in the yard and Landen ran in between them right when Zach threw the ball too low and it hit poor Landen right in his chubby little cheek.
We had to go to the pediatric urgent care because it was a Saturday night. They don't do x-rays there and the Dr. thought he really needed one in case there was a fracture.
So we ended up at the ER, but thankfully there was no fracture and no concussion, just a bad bruise. They said he'd get a black eye and the bruise would spread down his neck and look awful. But thankfully it never did. This was as bad as it got. Although it looked worse than in these pictures.
His sweet chubby cheeks did a good job of protecting him. The bruise was gone within a week. Praise God!
He was such a trooper at the ER. I think he cried more when he had to leave the toys in the waiting room than when he got hit. He also got weighed there and was 28lbs. 12oz. That's a 5lb. weight gain since we moved here. We were shocked, but it does explain why he has grown out of all his clothes. And he's still following the same growth curve as Mikayla did as a baby.

He finally met his match~

Landen put blue bear on there himself.
Every night after dinner these two run around and play and laugh and have a blast!
After awhile Zach gets worn out and tries to sneak away for a break, which makes Landen cry and cry. So usually Zach just lays down to rest and lets Landen crawl all over him. Can you believe Landen has more energy than Zach!?!
God knew exactly what Zach needed and it was a brother like Landen. He keeps him on his toes like no one else.
They love each other so much and are already best friends.

This week~

So Precious! The lips, the eyes, the hair, the cheeks, the lashes!
Always cookin' somethin'. Bear is your buddy when the kids are at school. You act like his mommy and throw him on your hip and walk around and buckle him into Zach's old blue doll stroller. Then you stand up and stretch like I do at the park.
I think your hair is trying to be curly. I am officially declaring it strawberry blonde.
Landen, this week you turned 21 months old. I handed you a chip and you took it and you got a big smile on your face and walked away and said over your shoulder,"Sanks Mom!" You started having super duper tantrums. You picked up your shoe and said, "Shoe!" You started singing Blues Clues and Dora. You especially like to say,"Aw man!" and swing your arm up like you are snapping. And you started saying,"Nigh nigh Mama" with a very sad face.=( You bring so much joy to this family and we all love you so much!!

9th Birthday Highlights~

The birthday boy picked a chocolate donut with chocolate chips and chocolate filling for his birthday breakfast. Isn't he so handsome!??! I guess you can take the boy out of Heritage Christian, but you can't take HCS out of the boy.=(
I can't believe he is nine already. I never wished for the days to go faster, not even when he nursed ever 2 hours for the first year of his life. But time still has flown by.

He chose Famous Dave's for his birthday dinner. Yum!
He had been planning it for weeks!
Landen kept feeding him ice cream.
This is what I got when I asked for a birthday photo.
I guess this is typical 9 year old stuff.
We had to reschedule his birthday party due to mommy getting the flu, then bronchitis, then pneumonia. Hopefully we will have a proper Star Wars party in a few weeks. And hopefully pictures of the new house too!
