Lightning Larry!

Mikayla's class did an end of the year play called Lightning Larry. It had a Christian theme(I can't remember the plot because I was taping it) and she got to be one of the citizens and the bank teller.

The boys actually memorized all their lines, which is amazing considering the play was about 20 minutes long, but they were very comical. It was a great outlet for this very energetic class. Her teacher is really amazing and handles them very well. She is very loving but doesn't tolerate rudeness and says that often.
Daddy asked her how it went because he didn't get to go and she said, "Lots of eyes on me."
It was very cute and funny and she did a great job! She sometimes would mouth other peoples lines, it was cute.=) They were all so proud of themselves and proud to show off their hard work.

5.4

We had some excitement around here about a month ago now. I'm sure you heard we had an earthquake, which seems very odd for IN, but apparently we are very near a fault and this earthquake was pretty close and we really felt it. I woke up and alerted Jeff who I am sure would have slept right through it. Mikayla woke up and came and asked us what that shaking was. We didn't tell her it was an earthquake until later because it just seemed impossible to have one here. Zach didn't get up but said he felt his bed shaking and thought it was me going to the bathroom!???! Anyway, here is a video of our little star for the day. She was quite proud of herself, you can hear her in the background as I taped this off of the tv. She actually volunteered to be interviewed!

Virus? Allergies??~

After a week of being horribly sick, the doctor's office finally calls to tell me I have Strep Throat! At least I will be getting better now. Praise God no one else has it as of today! Just in time for a visit from my baby sister!

So I don't forget!

Summer 2004

Zach has been saying the funniest things lately. Last Saturday morning the gardener decided to show up after being MIA for 2 weeks at 7:15AM on a Satruday morning!!!! I was so mad, but he was gone by the time Jeff went out there. He did a really bad job and was gone in like 5 minutes. Anyway, I was saying how I wanted to call him and tell him that if he ever comes before 9am again he's fired! Zach heard this and for the rest of the day walked around telling Mikayla, "If you kiss me, you're fired!!" "Stop doing that or you're fired!!" On and on! It was cute enough not to bother her. The next day he found a calculator and kept saying, "...according to my calculations...it will rain today...it will rain for(crunches some numbers)...15 seconds, minutes, or hours." And he has grown 3 inches the past year, 49 inches last April to 52 inches this April. And he weighs 62lbs. now. Then friday night he and Mikayla got chopped steak for dinner and he decides to cut his with a steak knife. He held it just right and cut the whole thing by himself! I couldn't believe how grown up he looked doing that and how well he did it. He is such a blessing to our family and has brought us much laughter! He is growing way too fast, always has, but it is a joy to watch!

Jog-A-Thon 2008!

My very first post was about Jog-a-thon last year and even though I am 3 weeks late posting this I will still say happy blogiversary to me!! On your mark, get set...
GO!
As usual, Zach had great form!
It was a beautiful day! One of Zach's classmates was really not into running and walked the whole way and seemed pretty miserable, but every time he passed her he would stop and talk to her for a minute. I don't know what he said but he was the only one to stop to do this and I just thought it was the sweetest thing! The prize for sending out 10 letters each!!
Him and his best bud!
The Girlie~ She ran a mile and only walked a little bit! Wow!
Mikayla and her best bud!

Probably the highlight of the day for all the kiddos was the ice cream!

Thank you to everyone who supported the kids in Jog-a-thon this year! It was another great year and the grand total raised was $91,000!!!

Mikayla's Self-Portrait

So, horrible mom that I am had to sneak into her diary to take this picture. Although, she does have like 5 diaries and they are really mostly her drawings. I think she is a very gifted artist and I tell her that God gave her that ability. I knew if I didn't take the pic soon she would rip it up and throw it away as she often does with her art. Last night she made a beautiful dress for her american girl doll out of toilet paper, but ripped it up before I could take a pic. It was really outstanding, better than anything I'd seen at a bridal shower. It was a strapless A-line dress and then she took flower paper and wrapped a strip of it around underneath the chest. Her eye for fashion is amazing. Describing it doesn't do it justice. Maybe I can get her to make another one...

Obey your leaders and submit to their authority.

They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.
Hebrews 13:17Imagine her surprise when she got this in the mail addressed to her!
She couldn't believe she got mail from The White House!

But I think this was her favorite part.
